Parents we want to make you aware of a false post that is circulating on Facebook. This was brought to Mrs. Welty's attention this evening and she talked to her entire staff. We want you to know and feel like you do that if this were our schools any of them you would have been informed of the situation as soon as possible. Thank you for you trust and understanding. I have also attached the post so you can see what was sent to Mrs. Welty.

We wanted to share information about an incident that occurred this morning as students were arriving at school. A student from the high school was approached by a stranger and thanks to the quick action of some community members who responded and called 911 we were able to get school SRO Lonnie Gullion on scene quickly. This situation is being investigated and hopefully the individual involved can be found. We have shared a 4 minute video on Facebook giving the same information and some advice from SRO Gullion. Thank you for your continued support and helping us keep our students safe.

Due to a continued increase in illness across our district and community, Trimble County Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 15th, and Friday, January 16th. These days will be made up at the end of the school year.
In addition, all Youth League basketball practices and games are canceled through Sunday, January 18th. Youth League activities will resume on Monday, January 19th.
We do not take the decision to cancel school or activities lightly. We understand the inconvenience this causes for families, and we truly hate to have to cancel. However, with the significant increase in illness we are currently seeing, the last thing we want to do is contribute to further spread or put the health of our students, staff, and families at risk.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support as we work to prioritize the health and safety of our community.
