The JR/SR High School would like to invite all local veterans, active military personnel and their families to our 2022 Veteran's Day program. Please join us this Friday, November 11 at 1:30 pm. Refreshments will be served in the library with the program to follow in the gym. We appreciate your service and look forward to honoring you!

Reminder to JR/SR High students: We will Trick or Treat at the end of the school day tomorrow. Be sure to bring a bag for your candy. Students may dress up. Costumes must meet dress code. For safety purposes, no masks or face paint/make-up that covers half the face or more. We must be able to identify everyone. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Governor's School for Entrepreneurs application launches November 14th. GSE is a three week residential program at Northern Kentucky University during the summer. This program is for those 9th, 10th and 11th graders who have a desire in the areas of: engineering, tech gurus, hackers, public speakers, leaders, creative thinkers, scientists and more. If this may seem like something you are interested, there is a virtual learning event on October 19th from 4:30-5:30. There is not a school nomination for this program. The Governor's School for the Arts application is open. GSA is a tuition-free residential summer program for passionate and talented young artists from across the Commonwealth. This application is for current high school sophomores and juniors. There is no school nomination process for GSA applicants; rather, students complete an online application for GSA that includes recommendation forms that can be completed by teachers and/or administrators. Parents and Students: If you missed the opportunity to take the PSAT, there is still time. The PSAT is a test that can qualify Juniors to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program and connect students to $300 million in college scholarships. We encourage underclass to take the PSAT so they can have a "practice" run and an opportunity to take part in a standardized timed test. This is a different kind of test that they are not accustomed to. There is a fee of $20.00. If you are interested in signing up, please contact Ms. Howerton at andrea.howerton@trimble.kyschools.us no later than October 17th. The test will be held at TCJSH on October 25th.

ACT is tomorrow for the Seniors who signed up! Please charge your school issued Chromebook, bring a sealed water bottle or refillable container and your ACT approved calculator (one will be provided if you do not have one). Please get a good nights rest, eat breakfast and be in your testing room by 8:10 am. Please remember that all electronic devices such as phones and smart watches will need to be turned off and left in either your backpack or your locker. These items are not permitted in the testing room. Have a great night and see you tomorrow!

Attention Seniors and Senior Parents:
This is a reminder that we will be hosting a FAFSA Night in the high school library on October 11th at 6pm. This will be a time for us to assist you in filling out this essential document for continuing education for your child. This does include any form of post-secondary education including standard undergraduate school, technical school, community college and even cosmetology school. We will have financial aid representatives on site to answer any questions and provide assistance. You will need to bring the following items with you:
• Social Security Numbers
• Student Driver's License (if applicable)
• Bank Statements or Records of income
• Federal Income Tax Returns/W-2s
I hope you will take the time to come and see what help we can provide you with in regards to your child's continuing education

Seniors, This is a reminder that if you intend to take the ACT on October 12th at TCJSH and will not be 18 prior to October 12th, you will have to have a parent/guardian sign the ACT Parental Consent Form and return the form to Ms. Howerton by tomorrow, September 30th! There will be blank forms in the front office. Parents/Guardians may also email their consent to andrea.howerton@trimble.kyschools.us.

Juniors and Seniors: Any Junior or Senior taking a Dual Credit class at JCTC/UK/NKU/MSU or any other college course, tomorrow is the last day to make your selection to receive Dual Credit Scholarship and Work Ready Dual Credit Scholarship for the fall semester. This will pay up to two courses in each category. If you need assistance, please see Ms. Howerton!

Students, KONA ICE is coming tomorrow from 1:30-3:00. Prices start at $3.00 up to $6.00. There will also be other snacks and drinks available for $1.00. It will be a hot day for the Powder Puff games! Come enjoy an afternoon of fun.

Parents,
Just a reminder to pay your child’s Chromebook/course fees. A deposit may be applied in lieu of the full amount and payments can be made throughout the year. Those who qualify for free or reduced lunch will have fees waived or reduced. Please complete the income verification form to see if you qualify.
All students will be given a Chromebook regardless of payment status. However, a deposit will be required of those who do not qualify for the waiver prior to students taking their Chromebook home from school.

Don't forget to attend the Trimble JR/SR High Back-to-School night, TONIGHT! Our building will be open from 5-7. If you've already picked up your schedule, be sure to bring it with you. You MUST attend orientation in order to remain enrolled in a course. If you have not completed the JCTC admissions application, please do so prior to orientation.
