In accordance with the executive order enacted by the Governor, Trimble County Schools will not be returning to in-person learning on December 7, 2020. The order states that if a county is still in the red category, no in-person learning can take place. Today’s county incidence rate is 35.4 and Trimble County needs to be at 25 or below to return in-person.
We will re-evaluate our county incidence rate again next Thursday to determine if in-person learning could resume on December 14, 2020. In the meantime, we will continue with virtual learning for students in grades K-12, small-group instruction in alignment with the Healthy At School Guidance and meal pick-up/distribution.
Should you have additional questions, please feel free to call our board office at 502-255-3201 or your child’s school.

Good Morning! This is just a friendly reminder that we are still providing Friday meal distributions. All children in the community between the ages of 1-18 are eligible to receive meals. Pick-ups for 7-days of meals (breakfast and lunch) will be available at the rear of Trimble County Jr/Sr. High School or Milton Elementary school between 12:00 – 1:30pm. If your child was signed up to bring meals home with them on Thursday afternoons when we were “in-person," you are eligible to pick up those meals on Fridays also, at the back of whichever school is closest to you. If you were previously on the delivery listing, the buses will be making those deliveries on Friday as normal. Please be watching for the bus so that you can accept your meal delivery. If you will not be home to accept the delivery, please place a cooler or tote at the end of your drive and we will gladly put your food inside the container. Please let us know if you have any questions.

b. The school follows all expectations in the KDE Healthy at School Guidance on Safety Expectations and Best Practices for Kentucky Schools (available at https://govstatus.egov.com/ky-healthy-at-school).
4. Nothing in this Order shall prohibit schools from providing small group in-person targeted services, as provided in KDE guidance.
5. This Order shall apply to all institutions of public and private elementary and secondary education, but does not apply to private schools conducted in a home solely for members of that household.
More information will be communicated from your child's school as we make the transition to virtual learning. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Happy Friday TC Students and Families! It’s hard to believe that we begin in-person classes on Monday. We never would have thought that when we sent students home on March 13th 2020, that we wouldn’t see them again until almost October…and it is finally here! We are excited to begin face to face instruction next week! I cannot express my overwhelming gratitude and appreciation for the entire Trimble County Staff…. I am proud of their dedication and compassion that so many of us have witnessed. They have worked tirelessly to make the best of this situation.
I hope the materials and information that we share with you have been helpful. We want to be very transparent about the covid data in our school district, so we have created a Trimble County Schools COVID-19 Dashboard to keep the community informed. This link will be on our district web-page for anyone to have access to view at any time. The dashboard shows new cases daily, active cases, and number of students and staff in quarantine. The data on the dashboard has been confirmed through the health department or a medical facility and then communicated to our office. Please let us know what questions you may have concerning the dashboard data.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

New Metric Guidance for School Districts
I wanted to update you all on the most recent guidance from the Governor and the Kentucky Department for Public Health.
The Governor announced Monday that his office will not make another recommendation to school districts after September 28th about holding in-person or virtual classes, instead, a new metric will be used to assist with these decisions.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) has created a four-color metric to guide school districts and administration in deciding whether to offer in person, virtual or hybrid instruction amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The metric provides school districts with the data needed for decision-making at the local district level. As long as the state’s positivity rate stands at less than 6%, the metric will be used to give guidance for local decision-making on instruction and athletics. The state positivity rate and a map of incidence by county can be found at www.kycovid19.ky.gov. Decisions on school instruction and activity for each coming week should be based on the color level at 8 p.m. ET each Thursday.
The color-coded system recommends specific mitigation measures based on levels of disease transmission. The four levels are:
Green, with fewer than one case per 100,000 county residents, means schools can hold either in-person or remote classes as long as schools are following the Healthy at School guidance. Gov. Beshear’s guidance on group gatherings and other standard precautions still must be followed. Sports may resume if Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) guidelines are followed.
Yellow, with 9.9 or fewer cases per 100,000 people, also allows in-person or remote learning and sports, but with heightened mitigation steps as coordinated by local officials, school administrators and public health leaders.
Orange, with 24.9 or fewer cases per 100,000, means schools should take into account a variety of factors to determine if they should move to remote learning exclusively. Sports still would be allowed, but there must be strict adherence to health guidelines. Small groups of students may be allowed into schools for targeted services.
Red, for more than 25 cases per 100,000, means schools should move the following week to all-virtual instruction. Sports and all extracurricular activities must be suspended. Only essential staff should regularly be in school buildings, still adhering to Healthy at School guidance. Essential student support services, such as providing meals, should continue. Small groups of students can be allowed in schools for targeted services. All these measures should remain in effect until the community returns to yellow status at a future Thursday decision point.
School Districts will operate based on the color of their county as indicated on the state map. Link to map: https://govstatus.egov.com/kyc...
New Emergency Regulation Issued
A new emergency administrative regulation from DPH, signed by Gov. Beshear, requires those responsible for students – parents, guardians, or other caregivers – to notify their child’s schools within 24 hours if a student tests positive for COVID-19. Schools are then required to notify DPH each school day of the number of students and school personnel who test positive for COVID-19. The results that school districts report will be posted to an online dashboard, which can be filtered by county, district, or specific school. Those reports will include the number of positive cases reported and number quarantined due to possible exposure among both students and school personnel. Schools also will be required to provide detailed information on any positive student cases to the local health department to enable contact tracing. The data made public on the daily report dashboard will not disclose the identity of students or school personnel. Health departments will need names and contact information, but that will be collected through private, in-person discussion between health officials and schools. The public dashboard can be accessed at www.kycovid19.ky.gov.
The COVID-19 Mode of Instruction Metrics for K-12 Education can be viewed here: https://chfs.ky.gov/agencies/d...
Please let us know what questions or concerns you may have as it relates to the new metric guidance. This tiered response approach will enable school districts to make decisions that are more directly aligned with their community and county data. Thank you for your continued support! #weareTC

Childcare on NTI Fridays
In-person Instruction will begin on Monday, September 28th for all students that selected this option. In-person students will attend school Monday through Thursday, and every Friday we will implement a district-wide Non-Traditional Instructional Day (Raider Day).
Milton Elementary School and Bedford Elementary School will provide NTI Day Childcare on Fridays from 7:45am to 3:15pm beginning the Friday after Fall Break (10/16/2020). This service is available to students in grades K-6 that are enrolled for in-person learning and whose parents/guardians work outside of the home. Parents are responsible for student transportation. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided to childcare students. Any child that needs to stay beyond 3:15pm, our after school ACES program will be an option. ACES operates daily at MES and BES from 3:15pm to 6:00pm for $8/day. The $8 fee is for ACES only, there is not a cost for NTI Childcare.
In the event, we have to close our facilities to in-person instruction, NTI Childcare will not be available. This is only a provided service while in-person instruction is permissible.
To request NTI childcare, go to the following link, complete the form and submit it by September 30, 2020. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdHIg4-gFcNB4tXCBuzucQsXHscZ-Iob2GroS0dLIKWhAITVQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Students can pick up meals at their home school from 12pm to 1:30 every Friday. We will provide breakfast, lunch and snacks for 5 days worth of meals. Please stay inside your car and meals will be delivered to your vehicle. Meal delivery is also an option for families that do not have transportation and qualify for this service.

Dare To Care Meals (Blessings in A Backpack)—For students that qualify for Dare To Care Meals, these will be delivered every week on Wednesdays beginning September 9th, 2020. Please contact Trimble County FRYSC at 502-663-0102 or 502-525-9839 for questions or more information. They will be happy to assist with any registrations for this service.

To our TC Students and Families—We were disheartened with the Governor’s most recent recommendation and want nothing more than to see our students in-person and resume school functions and activities. We wholeheartedly believe our students need to return to school in person as soon as that option is safe to do so - but until then, we remain committed to providing meaningful learning experiences for all students. We also want our students safe, our employees safe and our community safe. We are committed to the community we serve, and feel compelled to do everything possible to support our students academically, socially, and emotionally.
More details will emerge from the Kentucky Department of Education and the Kentucky Department for Public Health over the next few weeks, providing us with more information and updated guidance. However, we know that at this time, we are permitted to meet in person with students in small groups, such as hosting “introductory” meetings for a few students at a time to meet their new teachers, etc. This is especially important for young children and for students who are transitioning to a new school.
This is not the way we had envisioned the start of this school year but we’re going to give it the best we can to continue serving the students in this community….. OUR COMMUNITY and the TC that we love.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together on behalf of the children of Trimble County.
