TRIMBLE COUNTY JR/SR HIGH

Due to the taping of our graduation ceremony on May 15th, we ask that all completed work/Chromebooks be returned by Thursday, May 14th. If you are unable to return items by then, we ask that you return them Monday, May 18th. This will be the last day to return student work.

Students that have already completed all required work are able to return it, along with their Chromebook at any time. We ask that Chromebooks are returned in a tied plastic bag, and include a piece of paper containing the student’s name and any known problems with the device.

Greetings, TCJSHS families! The end of the year is quickly approaching, with the last scheduled student day as May 15th. With that, we would like to share some information about student work deadlines, Chromebook return, outstanding fees, and collection of personal belongings.

BES and TC Jr/Sr High parents may pick up students medications at TC Jr/Sr High School, on May 5th and May 12, 12-1:30 pm, through the meal pickup line. Call 663-0073 and we will bring it to your car.

Important Graduation Information Parents please ask students to check their email. Attention Seniors! Caps and gowns will be available for pickup Monday thru Wednesday (May 4-6) at the school. Prior to receiving your merchandise, your balance with Herff Jones MUST be paid in full! Any remaining payments must be made online at www.herffjones.com, and you will need to show us proof of payment. We will also have a list of any remaining Chromebook/school/lunch fees, to take care of at that time. Please remember, you will not receive your official diploma, until all fees have been paid. Regarding the graduation ceremony, we will be working to develop a schedule for you. We will allow you to sign-up for your time slot, as we want to accommodate your schedule and that of your family members who will attend. You will need to provide a complete list of family member’s names and addresses, when you sign up for your time slot. In order for us to comply with the recommendations set before us, you cannot have more than 6 guests. However, don’t forget you will be given tickets for 3 carloads for Graduation Premier Night. Your gowns will be collected prior to you leaving the building after your walk, so that they may be returned to Herff Jones. Please make sure that you have been in contact with either Mrs. Howerton or Mr. Craig to ensure that you are on track to graduate. They have spent many days trying to contact each of you. If you are in danger of NOT graduating, we will hold your cap and gown at the school, until we have confirmed your status with all teachers. We are working on a plan for returning Chromebooks/team uniforms/etc. and collecting your personal items from your locker. There will be specific days set for you to take care of this. Students are highly encouraged to work to complete the exempted focus areas, as completion will result in a supplement to student grades and/or replacement of previously assigned work, and will serve to strengthen student foundations for re-entry next year.

Focus areas coming due after the last day of school attendance, March 13th, will not be mandatory for completion, but will remain visible and accessible to students on a separate line on the year page.

In response to the COVID-19 school closure, and after receiving feedback from parents and students regarding NTI work assigned, there will be some changes in focus area requirements on the Summit platform.

Hardcopy packets for NTI Week 6 will be available for pickup beginning tomorrow, April 23. All assignments have also been posted in individual teacher’s google classrooms. This will be the last week of assigned work for students. We encourage students to drop off any completed work, so we can pass it along to teachers. Stay safe, and be well!!

Good Afternoon We are currently in the planning process of how we will honor our scholarship recipients this year. I need any Senior that has received an outside scholarship to please email me that information which includes Scholarship name, who it is from, the amount of the award, and where they will be attending school in the fall. Local scholarship awards are being decided on at this time and will be announced during the award ceremony. Please do not post awards on Facebook for this purpose. ATTENTION SENIORS If you have not received a call from Ms. Howerton or Mr. Craig this week, we need you to contact us. We need to discuss your current status in regards to graduation. We will also be attempting to contact you via phone calls. Since we do not have the majority of your phone numbers, we will need to contact your parent/guardian to get permission (if under age 18) as well as your phone number. Our goal is to complete this as soon as possible so please reach out to us. This will be the same discussions that we had earlier in the year, we just need to do a final confirmation that you are on track and understand the importance of assignment and course completion. Reminder that local scholarship applications are due on April 1. Students can email me copy of the scholarship and I will make the copies to give to each scholarship provider. The Jr/Sr High cafeteria is providing great meals each day, from noon to 1:00. If you have not taken advantage of the free meals, please do so! These are for any family with children age 19 and under. Just pull around back, and staff will bring your meals to your car window!
