Applications are now open for the Henry Clay Center's fully-funded, public-policy summer program - the High School Student Congress! This one-week program in Lexington, Kentucky is an ideal academic and professional experience for rising high school seniors (current juniors) interested in politics, government, leadership, and public service!
This year's program will be hosted at the University of Kentucky from June 14th to June 18th, 2021. Students will participate in a bipartisan policy development project, as well as hear from guest speakers, conduct leadership development activities, and enjoy site visits and other social and academic activities. Applications can be found on our website, www.henryclaycenter.org, and are available through February 22nd.

Notice of Vacancy: The TCJSHS SBDM Council has a vacancy for a Parent Member. A parent is defined as, "parent, stepparent, or foster parent. Guardians also qualify as parents if the student lives with them and they have a court order giving them legal custody." Parents MUST have a student enrolled in TCJSHS. Employees of TCJSHS, the Central Office, and the Board of Education (and their immediate family members) are not eligible to serve as a Parent Member on the Council.

Baptist Health Scholarship I have attached the application for the 2021 Baptist Health La Grange Volunteers Scholarship program. This $1000 scholarship will be offered to a 2021 high school graduate in the Oldham, Henry, or Trimble county area. Important Information for Future 42 Scholarship
The Carroll County Training Consortium provides renewable technology scholarships to individuals in the Carroll, Gallatin, Henry, Oldham, Owen, Trimble counties and others. The scholarship is a last dollar, full-tuition scholarship that is automatically renewed each year subject to satisfactory academic progress. ACT TorchPrep
ACT TorchPrep will be this Wednesday and Thursday at TCJS High School. We will have 6 - $1,000 Scholarships available for Seniors, whose parent or guardian is a member of Shelby Energy.
We also have 2- $1,000 Scholarships available to support those eligible students that are wishing to pursue a career as a Line Technician and enroll in a Lineman Training Program.

The deadline date to apply to Craft Academy has been extended to March 1, 2021.

Our deadline extension this recruitment season can be to the advantage of students across the state!
Not having had the opportunity this fall to meet with students across the state in assemblies, along with ACT registration changes, we wanted to ensure that all students who were interested in applying had the opportunity to do so.
If you have not already taken the ACT or need to increase your scores in a specific area, we encourage you to register for an upcoming test, as soon as possible. There are several new opportunities to take the ACT:
· Feb. 6 is a national testing date. Students must register for this test by January 15.
o To register for the national test online at www.act.org
· January 15, January 20, and February 12 are MSU residual (MSU-R) testing dates on MSUs campus.
o To register for the ACT-R on MSUs campus, please contact Morehead State University’s Testing Center at 606-783-2526.
To apply to our program, students must meet the following criteria:
· Be a current resident of the state of Kentucky
· Be a current high school sophomore
· Be on track to complete Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry by the end of their sophomore year
· Meet, or exceed the benchmarks on the ACT or the SAT
o ACT – 18 in English, 21 in Reading, and 22 in Math or
o SAT - 520 or higher on the SAT ERW and a 540 or higher on the SAT Math

Good morning, Raider Families! We are pleased to announce that ESS will begin again this week. ESS will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 3:30-4:30. While any student is welcome to stay for ESS, transportation home is only available for students that sign up in advance for the service. If you would like to sign your student up for transportation home from ESS, please contact Mrs. Jent, at 502-255-7781, ext. 2014.
ESS is separate from content-specific after-school tutoring, which is held Tuesday (English/History), Wednesday (Math) and Thursday (Science/Math) with Mrs. Pyles, 3:30-5:15. Students MUST sign up for tutoring, as space limited. To sign up, please contact Mrs. Pyles, 502-255-7781, ext. 2206. At this time, no transportation is available home from tutoring services.
