Dear Parents and Families,
This year, we are making a huge push to protect instructional time and ensure that every minute of our school day is focused on helping students learn and grow. Our teachers have full days of meaningful learning planned, and we want to make sure every student has the opportunity to "grow their brain every single day!" (A direct quote from Mrs. Jetta!)
With that focus in mind, we want to clarify a few procedures that may look a little different this year.
**Afternoon Dismissal**
Students are not released until 3:05 p.m. We know dismissal is not perfect but it is getting better and we're protecting those final minutes of the school day, which, allows our teachers to maximize instructional time and ensures that students receive a full day of learning.
**Morning Arrival & Breakfast**
Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. When students enter the building, they should go directly to the cafeteria. Students are released to classrooms at 7:45 a.m.
Even if a student arrives after 7:45 and needs breakfast, they will still be asked to go directly to the cafeteria first. Once students enter their classrooms, we want them to remain there so teachers can accurately account for their students and ensure that every child is directly supervised.
These procedures are not intended to make arrival or dismissal more difficult. They are designed to provide consistency, safety, supervision, and as much instructional time as possible.
We appreciate your help in encouraging your child to follow our morning and afternoon procedures. Starting the day with a healthy meal, getting to class on time, and staying engaged through the end of the school day all contribute to student success.
Thank you for partnering with us as we work to make every minute and every day count for our students!
