Title 1

Dear MES Families,

As we close the 2020-21 school year, it is time to reflect on the implementation of our Title 1 services. The purpose of Title 1 is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close the achievement gap. This is done through an allocation of funds through state educational agencies to local agencies and schools,

As part of this work, each school has a Title 1 Schoolwide Plan that is developed using an extensive needs assessment using schoolwide data with an emphasis on students that are at risk of failing. Each year this plan is presented to families during our opening meeting at the beginning of the year. At that time the Parent-School Learning Compact is shared for feedback as well. Unfortunately, COVID 19 prohibited us from hosting this night and delayed our normal Title 1 reading and math nights. Instead, Grab and Go events became a way to get educational resources into the hands of families. We are hopeful to return to in-person events next year.

Upon the close of the year, a survey of services is provided to families to provide feedback regarding the services. This data is then reviewed by the school's School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Team.

The links below contain the Milton Elementary Title 1 Schoolwide Plan and the Milton Elementary Title 1 Parent Survey. Your feedback is important to us in making decisions that best support the needs of you student. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes. The survey will close on May 21st. We hope to hear your VOICE as we plan for the 2021-22 academic year.
