REQUEST BUSES FOR FIELD TRIPS
The Trimble County Schools Transportation Department transports students in support of our educational goals. Buses get students to school and home every day that school is in session, and they provide transportation for field trips and after school sports/ club activities as well.
You can reach the Transportation Director at 502-255-3201 ext.4131 if you have questions or concerns about transportation.
Teachers planning a field trip should first check the shared Bus Reservation Calendar available in Outlook and web mail. This calendar will show the number of trips already reserved for a given day. If there are questions about bus availability, call before proceeding with plans.
If it appears a bus is available, teachers/coaches need to get the trip approved. This process is outlined in the trip request packet available in your school's front office. For a one-day trip, only a trip ticket signed by your principle is required to be submitted to the Transportation Director.
If it is an overnight trip, you must submit the overnight trip request form to the superintendent, Todd Neace, Tricia Webster at least two weeks before the Board of Education meeting the month prior to your trip.
You will be notified when the request is approved.
NOTE THAT TEACHERS/ COACHES ARE STILL REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A TRIP TICKET WITH DETAILS OF THE TRIP AND A ROSTER OF ALL BUS RIDERS. ALONG WITH A BUS SEATING CHART FILLED TO NO MORE THAN 2/3 CAPACITY. STATE LAW REQUIRES THAT THE BUS DRIVER HAVE THE TRIP TICKET, ROSTER, AND SEATING CHART BEFORE BEGINNING ANY TRIP. You can get the trip ticket packet in each school office.
So, to reiterate.... the steps you must complete for a field trip:
Check the shared Bus Reservation calendar
Get a trip ticket packet from your school office and submit completed form to Transportation, and overnight trips to Todd Neace & Tricia Webster.
