Morning Drop Off for Jr/Sr High Students at MES: Welcome Back Trimble County Jr/Sr High families! Thank you for a smooth start to the first day back in person with all student. We wanted to provide clarification for families who will be dropping off students at MES to catch the bus to the Jr/Sr High. The most important thing to note is that buses will be unloading and loading at 7:45 am this year in order to arrive at the Jr/Sr High for breakfast. If you arrive after buses have departed, you will need to provide transportation for your student that day. Please note that due to contact tracing and social distancing measures, students and families will need to follow these guidelines: • MES will have 2 lanes open for morning drop off a the front parking lot. Jr/Sr High families should plan to use the outside lane only (closest to the cars) for dropping off students. You may drop your student off at the circle to wait for loading. • Students will board the bus assigned to them for their regular pick up/drop off. If they are unsure, please contact Vanita at the TC board of education. • If you have an MES student and a Jr/Sr High student, please follow the step above then proceed to primary door drop off to have your MES student’s temperature scanned before student unloading. • All afternoon car riders will be dismissed from the primary entrance this year. If you are picking up your Jr/Sr High student, they may walk to sidewalk by the circle to enter your car. We hope that these guidelines will help with student safety and with the traffic flow in the morning allowing families to get to work on time. Please reach out if you have any questions or there is a specific need for your student. We look forward to a great year with students back in person! #weareTC

Good afternoon! Chromebook pickup for Jr/Sr High students begins this week! Online Student Registration must be completed prior to issuing student devices. You may access the online registration tool on the district website, www.trimble.kyschools.us. Any parent requiring assistance with the registration process, or a reliable internet connection, will have the opportunity to complete the online registration during grade-level designated pick-up. There is a $75 technology fee for Jr/Sr High students utilizing a school device. Fees will be collected at time of pick-up. Pick-up and registration help will be held between the hours of 10am and 6pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Parents of current-year Juniors and Seniors will register and/or pick up Chromebooks, and submit technology fee payments on Wednesday, August 19th. Parents of current-year Freshmen and Sophomores will complete the process on Thursday, August 20th. Parents of current-year 7th and 8th grade students will complete the process on Friday, August 21st. If your family has students in multiple grade levels, please contact the school for streamlined procedures, requiring only one trip to the school. The pickup process will be conducted as a drive-thru service, beginning at the Mount Pleasant entrance, circling the back of the building and around to the main entrance. If online registration needs to be completed, please park behind the gym and enter through the gym lobby. Masks are required to enter the building. Please be patient as capacity guidelines must be followed. Once registration is complete, a form will be provided to give to the technology coordinator to receive student devices. Once you have registered, and have been provided a form, please re-join the drive-through line and proceed to the main entrance. Additional information pertaining to student orientation will be provided later this week, so please stay tuned. Our faculty and staff are disappointed that we are unable to begin school with in-person learning, however we are committed to providing all students with a positive virtual-learning experience. Please do not hesitate to contact the school with questions that you may have, at 502-255-7781.

Scholarship Opportunity The Horatio Alger Association offers one of the largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country. The Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who've faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are primarily focused on recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, they seek students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need. The application period for high school seniors pursuing bachelor's degree programs ends October 25.  The application for career and technical education is open until August 15; this is for students pursuing associate degrees or technical certifications. It will certainly be a bittersweet day for all of us and we want to make the most of this experience for you all. We do ask that you are prepared to enter the building at your scheduled time. Graduates should be dressed and ready to walk on stage. We want to limit the amount of time you are waiting in the hallway. We also want to remind you that we will be video taping the entire event so please refrain from conversation while in line as the microphones may pick up on that. To honor the social distancing request, we have designated spots for each group as they proceed to the gymnasium. Restrooms will not be available. Please park in the assigned parking lot and we will gladly escort you to the proper location. Thank you all and let's make this a great day!

The correct site for student login to their ILP is https://www2.careercruising.com/my/login/ilp This is in regards to yesterdays information that I will post below. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. Specific information has been sent to students that are out of the building at JCTC, Ivy Tech, or CCATC. Please have your child check their TC email for that information. Students are required to complete his or her Individual Learning Plan (ILP), in grades 6-12. This is a valuable tool for career exploration, which also produces a resume of the students activities and achievements. Students should log on to https://public.careercruising.com/en/ and complete the ILP. This would also be a great opportunity for students and parents to begin to look at career interests together.
