New Standards Update:

As indicated on my 3/28/19 instructional update, we have new standards coming out.  I have also posted information on the news section of our website along with the critical fact sheet.  I am currently looking for teacher leaders to attend a training this summer and participate in the planning of the district roll out on work days before next school year starts and follow up on embedded PD days throughout the school year.  Please let your principal know if you are interested and would like more information.

Certified Evaluation Plan:

It is that time of year again when we need to convene a 50/50 committee to review our CEP.   I am looking for certified volunteers to participate in a virtual review of the document to determine whether or not we will make any changes to the plan.  There will be no face to face meetings, only feedback via a Google Doc of the CEP.  The reason it is called a 50/50 committee is because it must be comprised of 50% teachers and 50% administrators.  Please let me know if you are willing to participate.

PD for the 19-20 school year:

When you look at the calendar for next year, you will see 3 work days prior to the start of school and 4 embedded PD days.  A specific schedule of how your time will be spent on those work days will come at a later date.  This time will be devoted to curriculum work with the new standards and aligning those with our current frameworks/units K through 12.  We will have times set aside to meet vertically to align what is happening at each level in ELA, math, science, and social studies.  This work will continue across the embedded PD days to provide the much needed time to collaborate and plan our instruction.  Special education teachers, special area and CTE teachers will have some time during those work days and PD days for collaboration as well.
