In other news...
Clifford the Big Red Dog made his visit to Trimble County! During the week of September 10-14th Clifford stopped by the Head Start, Preschool and Kindergarten classes at MES and BES for a special story time and photo session! All children in each of the classes visited received a copy of the book that was read to them and a copy of their photo with Clifford! It was a great visit, and every child was so excited to see their special visitor! A special 'Thank You' to the costume volunteers, guest readers and school staff for working Clifford's visit into their plans!
Family Literacy Nights were a Success!
On Tuesday, September 11, we held Family Literacy Night at Milton Elementary School. Our guest reader was Representative Rick Rand, and he read a book called "Bigfoot Cinderrrrrella" to families.
On Thursday, September 13, we also held Family Literacy Night at Bedford Elementary School. Our guest reader was Trimble County Assistant Superintendent, Jessica Wilcoxson, she also read "Bigfoot Cinderrrrrella" to the BES families!
*Each family that attended Literacy Night got to partake in dinner, enchanted forest themed activities and a stop at their school's book fair. Those same families also received a free copy of "Bigfoot Cinderrrrrella" to keep at home! It was a enjoyable evening for all families at both schools! A very special 'Thank you' to our volunteers and our guest readers!
