Wednesday, September 20th, has been designated state-wide as “High Attendance Day” for Kentucky schools. This event highlights the importance of regular school attendance and its link to student performance. By attending class regularly, a student is more likely to keep up with the daily lessons and assignments and achieve academic performance benchmarks on time. Research reflects that a child's attendance record is one of the strongest single predictors of academic success.
All schools in Trimble County have already been striving to improve the daily attendance, but wouldn't it be phenomenal if not a single student missed school on Wednesday, September 20th? What a great recognition that would be for Trimble Co. Schools! In addition, awards will be distributed statewide based on each individual school’s attendance percentage, regardless of the district’s overall percentage. The school in each category (elementary, middle and high) with the highest percentage attendance for that day will be awarded $500!
We are aiming for 100% on that Wednesday and we hope that you'll do your best to help in achieving this goal!
